Note to self: running on dirt trails after two days of rain….not the greatest idea. Though my inner 5-year-old is very happy. Georgia clay, mud puddles, hills and some time on the trails start the weekend. #running #trailrunning (at Cochran Shoals - Chattahoochee River)
Stumbled upon this on my run tonight. I love these little glimpses of Atlanta history. Just imagine the craftsmanship, value and importance that went into building a sidewalk so to stamp it with your own name. Beautiful. History nerd moment over. #ansleypark #atlanta #running #ilovethiscity
When my alarm went off this morning at 5:30 am, I asked myself why in the world I do this and laid there for 5 more minutes.
By 7 am I was sure this was a bad idea as I shivered and thought how nice my bed would be.
By 8 am I was passing a group of marines in full gear and I realized how blessed I am to be here, in this country, protected by so many wonderful men and women and surrounded by boundless opportunity.
By 8:45 I thought my feet were going to fall off, but two amazing girls pushed me harder than I’ve ever pushed myself, with no doubt.
And before 9:25 I had finished 13.1 with a PR by more than 17 minutes from a year ago and 14 from my last half.
I’m thankful today for far more than running, but running continues to humble me, inspire me and leave me thankful for the amazing experiences, people, stories, feats to be accomplished and personal cheerleaders it places along my path every day. #thanksgiving
